Build #8 · Week 6 · Launched Jul 13, 2026
LiveAI Gift Pro
Tell it about the person, the occasion and your budget, and it hands you a short list of 12-15 real gift ideas in seconds, each one matched to them and linked straight to where to buy. No sign-up, no endless scrolling. The thoughtful shortcut for people who are bad at gifts.

The idea
What it is & why I'm building it
Gift-giving is a search problem dressed up as an emotional one. People know roughly who they're shopping for but drown in options and end up buying a gift card. AI Gift Pro takes the few things you do know, who they are, the occasion, the budget, and turns it into a tight list of actual products you can go buy right now.
You answer a couple of quick questions, it thinks for a second, and you get 12-15 ideas, each matched to the person and linked to where to buy. No account, no sign-up wall. The whole experience is meant to feel like asking a thoughtful friend who happens to know every product on the internet.
It's live now, and it launched later than planned, which is part of the story. The recommender worked weeks ago. What took the extra time was the part that actually makes money: the affiliate links and the ad layout, done in a way that doesn't ruin the experience. I shipped it only once that bar was met.
The build
How it's being built
The core is a recommender that turns a short questionnaire into a structured prompt, gets back a list of real gift types, and matches those to actual purchasable products with buy links. The trick is keeping the suggestions specific and real rather than generic "a nice candle" filler.
Monetization is the build I'm focused on now. It's Amazon affiliate on the product links plus AdSense on the page, which is a well-worn model for this kind of high-intent, seasonal traffic. The risk is obvious, lean too hard on ads and affiliate tags and you wreck the thing that made it useful. So I'm building the money layer carefully, after the recommendations are good, not before.
Same stack as the rest. Static front end, AI doing the matching, cheap hosting. Two things made this the hardest ship so far: rendering the Amazon affiliate links so they sit natively inside each suggestion instead of looking bolted on, and the product database the generator pulls from, which had to be structured so ideas map to real, buyable items. Neither was hard because of code volume. Both were hard because they sit exactly where trust meets money, and getting that seam wrong is what makes affiliate tools feel like spam.
The stack
Tools used
AI recommender the core
Turns a short questionnaire into 12-15 specific, real gift ideas matched to the person.
No sign-up the experience
Answer two questions, get the list. No account, no wall, no friction.
Amazon affiliate the money
Product links carry affiliate tags, rendered natively inside each suggestion. The main revenue line, live now.
AdSense the money
Display ads on the high-intent, seasonal traffic. Added without wrecking the experience.
The numbers
Analytics so far
Launched today, so these zeros are hours old rather than excuses. Affiliate clicks, generated lists, and revenue are all tracked from day one, and the real numbers go up here as they land, exactly like every other build. Gift traffic is seasonal, so the honest expectation is a slow burn until search picks it up and the first gifting occasions run through it.
The recap
Lessons & results
This one earns a real recap, because it was the hardest ship of the project so far and the most useful. The two hard parts: rendering Amazon affiliate links so they feel native to each suggestion rather than pasted on, and structuring the product database the generator pulls from so every idea maps to something real and buyable. It slipped past its week because I refused to ship the version that felt like a mall kiosk.
Here is the part worth being honest about in the other direction: even the hardest ship so far was still easy in absolute terms, because it ran on the same ShipWolf system as every other build, the same stack, the same prompts, the same launch playbook. The only genuinely new work was one extra step for the affiliate rendering, and that step is now written into the guide inside ShipWolf. That is the updates-forever promise doing its actual job: every build that teaches me something upgrades the kit for everyone who already owns it. Whether affiliate plus ads can make a free tool pay is now a live experiment, and the results land on this page either way.
