Building

Onerate

Done-for-you websites for local businesses. Think the local plumber or the dentist down the street. $4,500, live in a day. I relaunched it on a domain I'd been sitting on for two years to see if Google treats it different than a fresh one.

The idea

What it is & why I built it

The pitch is your business online in one day. A real brand and a website for local operators who need to look legit but keep getting quoted eight grand and six weeks. Think the local plumber, or the dentist down the street. With Onerate it's a flat $4,500 and you're live by sundown.

Numbers are zero today. Shipped it this morning, no clients yet. Productized stuff takes a minute to land its first customers, especially with no testimonials up yet. I've built a lot of these for clients over the years though. Probably 100ish, I've kind of lost count. So the work isn't new. I'm just selling it as a product now instead of one-off projects.

The part I'm actually curious about is the domain. I'd been sitting on this one for a couple years from an old project. Instead of buying a fresh one like I did for MyNubs and BJJMath, I wiped it and put Onerate on top. People say Google trusts an older domain more. Maybe. I honestly don't know yet. Figured I'd just run it and see what the numbers say.

The build

How it was built

Not much of a build, honestly. It's a teardown and a relaunch. I kept the domain, threw out the old design and copy, and rebuilt it around one idea. A clean brand and a site, live in a day.

The reason it can be a day and a flat price is that it's productized. No open-ended agency project, no scope creep. Underneath it's the same setup as my other builds. Static site, built with AI, cheap hosting. Same costs as the rest.

No email capture on it yet. Right now it's just the offer and a way to book. I'll probably add a list down the line. No traffic yet either, it only went live this morning.

The old domain what I'm testing

I'd owned it a couple years from a different project. Curious whether Google trusts it more than a fresh one. That's the whole reason this build is interesting to me.

Flat $4,500, one day the offer

It's productized. No agency back-and-forth, no six-week timeline. Book it, it's live by sundown.

Done about 100 of these the experience

I've built a lot of sites and brands for clients over the years. Lost count around 100. Same work, just packaged as a product now.

Same stack as the rest how it's built

Static site, AI, cheap hosting. No email on it yet, it's just a booking page for now.

Nothing to show yet. It went live this morning, so there's no traffic and nothing's ranking. The interesting part is the comparison. MyNubs and BJJMath both started on fresh domains. This one didn't. I'll put the same numbers up here as they come in and we'll see if the old domain actually does anything. No guesses until there's real data.

The recap

Lessons & results

Nothing to recap yet. It only went live this morning, so there's no traffic and no results to be straight about. Once the domain thing plays out and some numbers come in, I'll write up what worked and what didn't right here.
