Build #9 · Week 7 · Launched Jul 17, 2026
LiveRSD Decoder
Paste the text, email, or moment that set off the spiral. In about 90 seconds you see what was actually said, what your brain filled in, and a sixty-second way back to solid ground. Free, anonymous, nothing stored, built on the DBT skill Check the Facts.

The idea
What it is & why I built it
RSD is rejection sensitive dysphoria, the ADHD-adjacent pattern where a two-word reply or a "can we talk Monday" detonates into a full catastrophe story. The spiral is real pain, and it is also, almost always, a first draft written by a scared brain. RSD Decoder is the bridge across that moment: paste what set it off, and it separates what was actually said from what your brain filled in, shows the alternative readings weighted by likelihood, walks you through three Check-the-Facts questions from DBT, and lands you in a sixty-second breathing exercise.
This is week 7's build, and it did not start with this name. The week was announced as an ADD toolkit, four small forgiving tools for hard brain days. Then the research kept surfacing the same specific pain over and over in the community threads: not task paralysis, but the spiral. By midweek it was obvious the honest move was to collapse the toolkit into its sharpest tool and build that one thing properly. It shipped Friday, on time, as RSD Decoder, and the other planned tools went back on the someday list where they belong until this one proves itself.
The parts I refused to compromise: it is anonymous with no account, nothing you paste is stored, and the crisis path is never behind the paywall. If a decode reads heavier than a spiral, the tool stops decoding and routes to 988 and local helplines, because some moments deserve a person, not a product. That is written into the product logic, not the fine print.
The build
How it was built
Same ShipWolf system as every build: static front end, AI running the decode, cheap hosting, Gumroad for checkout. The free tier is five decodes a day with the counter living in your browser, and Pro is pay-what-you-want, $5 minimum with $19 suggested, once, no subscription, because ADHD and money have a complicated relationship and this tool is not going to make it worse.
Pro unlocks unlimited decodes, a Vault of your decode history stored only on your device (so you can see how many spirals turned out fine, which is the real therapy), and your choice of voice and framework: gentle, direct, or sassy friend, decoded through DBT, CBT, or body-first somatic framing. Clinical review of the methodology is underway, and the reviewing therapist's credentials will be published on the site when complete.
The hard part, once again, was the trust seam. A tool people reach for in a raw moment has one job above all others: do no harm at the worst possible time. The heavier-than-a-spiral detection and crisis routing took longer than the decoder itself, and that was the correct ratio.
The numbers
Analytics so far
Launched days ago, so these are honest zeros with the counters running. Decodes, Pro unlocks, and revenue all get posted here as they land, like every build in the portfolio.
The recap
Lessons & results
The week-7 lesson worth logging: scope collapse is a feature, not a failure. The week started as a four-tool toolkit and shipped as one excellent tool, because every hour of research pointed at the spiral as the pain that mattered most, and one thing built properly beats four things built politely. It also kept the Friday, which mattered double after the AI Gift Pro slip. Whether pay-what-you-want can support a tool this deliberately kind is now a live experiment, and the results land here either way.
