Week 17 Shipped: Who's the Weirdo? (The Portfolio's First Game)

Week 17's build is live, and it is unlike anything else on the shelf: Who's the Weirdo?, a daily game of questionable crowd predictions. Everyone's weird. Can you predict how weird? Five questions about what people actually admit to, about a minute to play, and a brand-new game every single day. Game #1 shipped with the site, and the counter only goes up from here.

Why a game, and why daily

Sixteen builds in, everything on the board waits to be found: search finds the databases, need finds the tools, hand-selling finds the kits. A daily game is the opposite animal, it has to earn a habit, and the daily format is the strongest habit loop the consumer internet has ever produced. One shared game per day for everyone, a minute of delight, a result built for the group chat. The meta-joke is not lost on me: the weekly-cadence project now owns a daily-cadence product, which means this build made a publishing promise with no days off. The game numbering is that promise, counted in public.

The money, honestly: $0 on purpose

No model at launch, and that is the strategy, not an oversight. Daily games monetize audiences, not visits: streaks first, share loops second, then ads or a daily sponsor slot once a crowd actually shows up every morning. The one number that decides this build's fate is daily return players, and it gets published on the build page whichever way it points. Sixteen builds live, $93.81 on the board, week 18 already in the shop for Friday, and October 15, Medicare Decoder's season opener, is two weeks out. Go play today's game, then tell me how wrong you were about humanity.
