Week 14 Shipped: JotThread, the Capture Layer for Claude

It shipped Friday, and its name is JotThread. Monday's post promised "a Claude skill for organization" with the name landing at ship; here is what that actually became, and why it became something narrower and better than the announcement.

What shipped

JotThread is the capture layer for Claude. The problem it solves is one every heavy Claude user knows without having a name for it: the most valuable parts of a working conversation, the decisions, the numbers, the follow-ups, live in the middle of the thread, and when the session moves on, they are gone. JotThread pulls them out with one command. Type /jot, Claude reads the recent context, captures what matters, files each item as a note or a task under the right project, and answers with one line so you can keep working. Everything lands in a single Markdown file you own, no account, no database, and /thread renders it as a clean board right in the chat when you want the big picture.

The two bets inside it

First, the scope bet: it is a capture tool, explicitly not a project manager, because "organization" is a swamp and one sharp job is a product. Announced vague, shipped specific, the same pattern that turned an ADD toolkit into RSD Decoder, and it worked again. Second, the pricing bet, and this one is new for the portfolio: $29 once, lifetime, and no free tier at all. Every user is a buyer. That makes JotThread the cleanest test yet of the skill-economy thesis this portfolio keeps betting on, three skill products in a row now, and the conversion story will be visible in a single number on its build page.
